Named Mer (sea) Soleil (sun) to reflect the two forces of nature vital to its superior grape production, this sunny California Chardonnay is produced by the Wagner family, who are also responsible for the famed Caymus wines.

A lovely soft golden straw in color, Mer Soleil reveals an absolutely enticing bouquet of bright citrus, tropical fruit, and apple aromas, accompanied by hints of honeysuckle, truffle, butterscotch, hazelnut, and buttery oak.

Barrel fermented for one year in carefully selected French oak barrels, Mer Soleil is a classic example of big, bold, buttery, oaky Chardonnays. The entry is soft and round, the oak present, but not overpowering. Rich, full-bodied, buttery, and almost creamy in the mouth, complex, tropical fruit flavors of ripe citrus, pineapple, banana, coconut, mango are layered with notes of lemon cream, vanilla, spiced pear, and oak. The finish is very long lasting, with the lingering, mouth-coating taste of buttery, creamy oak.
