Hand bottled at the WhistlePig Farm Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont, WhistlePig 100/100 is a 100-proof, 100% rye whiskey, aged for a minimum of ten years in oak barrels. It was introduced in mid-2010 and in a very limited quantity – only 1000 cases.

After 14 years at Maker’s Mark, renowned Master Distiller, Dave Pickerell decided to devote himself to creating what he regards as his ‘magnum opus,” a 100% rye whiskey to feature what rye should be and what rye can be in its perfect essence. He believes that WhistlePig embodies the perfect combination of proof, percent, and age.

A dark golden amber in color, WhistlePig 100/100 begins with rich notes of nutmeg, allspice, orange peel and brown sugar followed by delicate notes of tobacco, vanilla, caramel, honey, and burnt oak.

The palate is bold, full-bodied and slightly dry with an upfront sweetness and silkiness. You will find complex and balanced flavors of caramel, vanilla, honey and baked fruit, followed by clove, anise, pepper mint, and subtle oak. The finish is creamy with lingering nuances of spiced butterscotch.

Even at 100 proof, this rye is so smooth that you shouldn’t need to add water. Enjoy Whistlepig with a nice cigar or a plate of Vermont cheeses.
