Perrier Jouet Grand Brute Gift Set

Two important things make the champagne house Perrier-Jouët famous and extremely valued – spirits, the Cuvée Belle Epoque, and the bottles crafted in Art Nouveau style. The brand was founded back in 1811 on the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay by Rose Adelaide Jouët and Pierre-Nicholas Perrier. They have already celebrated two centuries of age, by launching the Bi-Centenaire Champagne, and are now presenting the Perrier-Jouët Collection by Claire Coles.

PERRIER JOUET BRUTThis collection is in fact a rather elegant series of limited edition champagnes, with additional accessories which are indispensable for enjoying such exquisite drinks. The collection has been realized in close collaboration with the young British textile designer Claire Coles.

The London artist has reportedly designed three different embroidered designs which depict both the individual personality and the House style of the inhouse Grand Brut, Rosé and the famous Belle Epoque cuvees. The young designer has made good use of fragments of vintage wallpapers, scale and fabrics, in addition to adding layered botanical collages alongside handmade stuff. One of the main sources of inspiration for Claire was the artistry from Perrier-Jouët and the brand’s talent in conferring its wines the superb aromas. This way she was able to create themed designs which incorporate the character of each of the champagnes – the feminism and extravagance of Blason Rosé, the delicate floral theme of Belle Epoque and the freshness of the Grand Brut.

In addition, the Perrier-Jouët by Claire Coles also features 2 limited editions of cocktail bags for the Blason Rosé and Grand Brut cuvees. These one off cocktail bags, boasting a semi-rigid cooler bag garnished with elegant satin effects which comprises the themed designs, are extremely useful in case you want to carry the bottle with you on your journeys.

Perrier Joet Brut, Plaza Wine and Liquors, NJFamed Champagne House, Perrier-Jouët, teamed up with London-based artist, Claire Coles, to create the Perrier-Jouët Collection by Claire Coles for Holiday 2012. The collection includes a series of beautiful satin cocktail bags and a champagne gift set The satin cocktail cooler bags have a special lining inside to keep a bottle of Perrier-Jouët chilled for 2 hours while a sticker placed on the bags ribbon indicates the cooling function and ensures the bottle is kept fresh.

Blason Rosé With nature as her inspiration, Claire Coles created three designs, each reflective of the style of the House of Perrier-Jouët and the distinctive personality of Grand Brut, Blason Rosé and Belle Époque champagnes. Fresh and lively, indulgent and feminine, luxurious and delicate, the designer gives her own contemporary interpretation of the Art Nouveau look for Perrier-Jouët and their special holiday packaging.

Wine Spectator Review:
A toasty version, displaying a polished texture and flavors of Golden Delicious apple, pastry and spiced orange peel. This is lively, with a pretty floral note running throughout. Drink now.

Parker Review:
Perrier-Jouets NV Grand Brut is a very pleasant, mid-weight Champagne that shows lovely complexity. Suggestions of smoke, roasted nuts and light honey add character to a generous core of ripe yellow fruit. The wine offers excellent overall balance and a poised finish. This is Lot L2070809871, disgorged November 17, 2007. Anticipated maturity 2009-2012.

Tanzer Review:
(lot #2940400963 on the bottle) Pale gold color. Toasted bread, hazelnut and fresh pear on the nose, along with a hint of fresh porcini. Fine-grained and elegant in texture, with fresh flavors of apple, orange and buttery brioche. Finishes with good length and notes of lemon and lime.

Other Notes:
This is a nonvintage with bottle age, giving richness along with toast. The primary fruits are melting into a full, almond and yeast wine that fills the mouth with its concentration and citrus hints. This is a style for those who like rich but dry Champagne. Wine Enthusiast.
